This afternoon we left the showers behind and drove out to Portsoy and Sandend - both are lovely old fishing villages. Armed with nets and buckets the boys explored the rockpools. Haven't been to Sandend in years and had forgotten what a lovely unspoilt beach it has got - not an ice cream van or wind break in sight! We were all too busy looking at the tiny flounders in the sand that we didn't see the big waves coming - and all got wet feet and trousers!! Walked all the way along the slippy sea wall for a photo shoot - as you do!!
And have to say the ice creams fromPortsoy are some of the best have ever had.
