Domestic Goddess??

I think not - but for once I have spent the day at home doing house wifey things for a change!! I have mowed the grass - was a shame to cut all the daisies down but they will soon pop back up, and I have done some baking. And as it was a lovely afternoon I thought I would take my cup of tea and a cake outside and sit in the sun. I even made a yummy Somerset pork casserole for tea - almost unheard of for me to cook a weekday tea - usually Andy does it as I am at karate with the boys.

I did pop out to the library to pick up yet another book I had requested and just happened to pop into my local craft shop. I am not the proud owner of 2 more Sugar Nellie stamps - Rugby Hamish and Penelope. Alos picked up a BG Boxer 6x6 pad, brand new out of the box PM Simply Elegant 6x6 pad (and yes Karen had literally opened the box cos they had just been delivered!) and some chalk ink. Enough there to keep me quiet for a bit!!

More cards

I thought as how this months Scrapagogo Greetings kit is on its way to me that maybe I should use up some of last months kit.

The first card is for two very good friends whose baby is due the end of May. I will have another one to make as I found out on Friday that another couple we know are having a baby - we are so pleased for them as its been quite a journey for them with some heartbreak along the way. They actually found out on the day that the letter arrived to tell them that they had been accepted for IVF treatment - must have been fate!!

The other card is an engagement one for my brother and future sister in law - we will have to wait quite a while for the actual wedding so won't be buying a new hat right away.

I won!!

Just found out I won a prize over on the UKS cyber crop. It was for my entry for Gerties "The Stuntman" class. My LO was called Double the Trouble and I think I have already posted a piccy below. I am so chuffed cos I never win anything.

Congratulations to my friend (and fellow Scrapdragon) for also being a prizewinner on the "Up Close and Personal" class by Weetabix.

Final class of the CC

Am all scrapped out now! Managed to finish Annettes fabby little BIA book - think it might be destined as a pressie for someone.

Been a glorious day here - the grass is mown and all washing dried. The boys have been out in the park for ages having water balloon fights - which explains why my downstairs bathroom is under an inch of water.

Another CC class

This time by Caroline at Bubbly Funk. I didn't buy any CC kits - I have more than enough stash of my own to use up. I could have done with the flower template though as my attempt to handcut a flower was a bit pants - so decided to use a big bloom instead and I think it works quite well. Used scraps of Scenic Route Sumner papers, a BG button and my fave Autumn Leaves flourish stamps with a watermark nk. The words are stamped using my Making Memories magnetic Express It stamps - only I stamped one word upside down so had to redo it on a scrap of card stock and stick it over the top!!

The next class I want to try is but the very talented Annette (Voodoo Vixen on UKS) I met her at my local crop recently and she gave me the benefit of her wisdom in a personal BIA lesson.

Cyber Crop Frenzy

I promise this is my last LO of the day - the cyber crop over on UKS is jam packed with inspiration. Have managed 3 classes today (alon with my Shimelle book and a walk on the beach) so not doing too badly. Have printed off some of the others to do at a later date - really want to do the box of books but know that if I rush it I will make loads of mistakes - might be an idea to do at my next crop in a couple of weeks.

This class was by the uber talented Gertie and I just love her style. This has been my favourite LO of the CC so far. Photos are of Sam and Callum earlier in the month on a walk along the banks of the river Spey.

Roseisle beach

As the sun was shining we decided to go for a walk down Roseisle beach - and they boys wanted to take the football. Cue lots of running up and down and fishing the ball out of the sea - far too cold for paddling today! Poor Andy has pulled a muscle in his leg and is now hobbling around the place - its his age you see!

Another CC class finished

This time it was the "Up Close and Personal" class by Weetabix over on UKS. I wasn't using a close up photo of me - so opted for this one of Callum in a daydream on the rocks down at Cummingston rocks last summer. Used mainly this months Scrapagogo kit. The flower petals were Banana Frog Build a Bloom stamps and white Stazon stamped onto acetate and cut out. Not my usual style but sometimes its good to try something different.

25th April 2008

Here is my April page for Shimelles Scrap Your Day project. It shows the pile of teddies of Callums bed - which I am sure will soon disappear now he is getting older. Callum looking smart in his school uniform - should have taken an after picture too - cos he doesn't look quite as pristine at 3pm! We had a trip to the park after school and then the boys had a game of footie at a friends BBQ in the evening. Also shows the book I am reading - The Book Thief by Markus Zusak - as recommended by my friend Fae. Not a book I would normally have picked up but am enjoying it.

Castle

This is my take on the Friday class by CloClo over on the UKS cybercrop. The original was very pink and girly - so not me!! I used some of the piccys I took at Urquhart Castle earlier in the month and used Basic Grey Periphery papers and chipboard alphas. Also used my Bazzill flourish stitching template for the first time - really pleased with the overall result.

The cybercrop is great fun - the banter and chat is what makes UKS such a fab place. Off to look at the next class.....

Have started taking my photos for today - but first things first I needed to upload piccys of my finished "blank" jounal onto UKS before the deadline of 7pm. Am pleased with how it has turned out - used scraps of Basic Grey Mellow and October Afternoon papers - some stamps and some BG Mellow rub ons.

Now where is my camera......

Tomorrow is the day

I am playing along with the new Shimelle project to Scrap Your Day. Have just had a quick look at her blog - and nearly fell off my chair as she has put a link to my little book. I am amazed and honoured. saying that I am only up to month five on the decorating stakes - so had best get back to it.

Scrap Your Day by Shimelle

Yet another project I have decided to undertake - why do I do it. Not finished my Home yet - but I was never a swot at school by getting things done on time and I'm not changing now!!

The idea for this project is that we photograph our day on the 25th of each month - just your ordinary day to day stuff - and by the end of the 12 months I should have a record of daily family life.

Used my BIA - did continuous punching for the first time - only 1 piece of card had to be binned! Used Basic Grey Mellow paper and some Basic Grey chipboard numbers which I have inked. This is one of the Cyber Crop classes over on UKS this weekend - and in order to claim the points we have to be able to show some of our decorated pages - so thats my job for this evening. I will be back with more piccys - hopefully.

Rats with wings!!

I am not a fan of seagulls - ever since one flew down and took the cold meat of Andys plate during an al fresco meal in Newquay many years ago. Popped down to the library this evening and so happened to have my camera with me - the seagulls made willing victims. The adult ones actually look quite regal - but I still don't like them much!!

Giddy Up Horsey

This is my take on the weekly challenge over on UKS. Its a photo of Callum in the saddle for the fisrt (and last) time. He will only have been about 18 months old - but it looks as though he was enjoying it! Makes a change to scrap an older photo as I tend to only do the "here and now" photos.

Green Fingers

Its not a sight you see everyday - but Andy and Callum were out doing a spot of gardening this afternoon. I had mowed the lawn yesterday - nothing better than the smell of freshly mown grass - but I drw the line at using the strimmer! And while all this activity was going on - I was making a start on the UKS weekly challenge.

GoGo kit - struggling!

I'm afraid I am struggling a bit with this months kit - not the right colours to scrap the boys in!!

Love the Hambly overlay - so I am only using it in small pieces to make it last.

Twitching!

Not that sort of twitching - we have been out birdwatching all morning! Sam is a member of the Discovery Club at school and they had arranged a trip out with the local RSPB group to Spynie Loch. The sun was shining and not a cloud in the sky - just as well as I think we must have walked about 5 miles. Walked down to the bird hide overlooking the loch and saw swans, gulls,cormorants and herons. The herons were amazing - I had never seen their nests before. There we 11 of them high up in the trees - you could here the babies too. Made me think about what it must have been like in prehistoric times - as the birds reminded me of pterodactyls flying ound - was definately a sight to see.

Came across a small pond that was full to the brim with tadpoles - the water was literally bubbling with them all. Of course the boys thought this was good fun - and I think if we had had a suitable container they would have wanted to bring some home with them!!

Castle mini book

Seeing how I took loads of photos last weekend while we were castle hopping I thought I would make a mini book. It will be a nice way to remember the weekend and have some of the pics in one place.

Used some scraps of Crate Paper Avenue collection and my BIA. Saw the idea for this in an old Scrapbook Inspirations mag - its a gatefold book and I think it works really well.

As clean as a clean thing.

Andy decided to take it upon himself to give my new car a proper clean - inside and out. And it might be the first and last one it gets if left to me!! He polished it to within an inch of its life - so had to take a couple of piccys.

First April GoGo LO

Took the plunge and cut up some of my new kit. Wasn't really sure about some of it - especially the pink. Don't think yellow is a colour I use much in my scrapping but quite like the effect here. Used a Hambly overlay for the first time - but only a little bit of it.

Photo is of Sam taken at Urquhart Castle last weekend - he had Andys binoculars to do a bit of Nessie spotting!!

A morning stroll

Seeing as it was such a nice morning here Andy suggested going for a walk. So we ended up walking along the west beach at Lossiemouth - walked up to the lighthouse and back. And I think in the whole time we were walking we only saw about half a dozen people. Some sort of small rodent ran out across the path infront of me - almost across my boots!! Then the peace was shattered by a couple of Hawks, Tornados and one of the new Eurofighters - the noise was something else. Luckily they were on their way to Kinloss so the peace soon returned.

How high??

How high can you kick? This is Sam during a karate training session - I love the look of determination on his face. Thanks to Sensei Kayleigh for taking and emailing the photo to me.

Old and new stash

Waiting patiently for this months GoGo kit to arrive - so in the meantime I thought I would use up some old stash. The LO is made from what I have left of my very first GoGo kit back from July last year. The colours are too bright for me really but the photo of Callum is one of my faves.

Also made a few cards using this months GoGo Greetings kit - my colouring on the Magnolia isn't too good - think I need more practice.
