It's Monday. What Are You Reading?

I have 2 books on the go this week - one a proper book and the other on my kindle.

I loved Before I Go To Sleep by SJ Watson (and for once the film was as good as the book) so I had high expectations of more of the same with Second Life. So far it has the makings of a half decent thriller and I'm not sure where it is going.

She loves her husband. She's obsessed by a stranger.

She's a devoted mother. She's prepared to lose everything.

She knows what she's doing. She's out of control.

She's innocent. She's guilty as sin.

She's living two lives. She might lose both . . .

On my Kindle I am reading the new e book release by Cathy Bramley with the first installment of her Wickham Hall series. Loving it so far.

Holly Swift has just landed the job of her dreams: events co-ordinator at Wickham Hall, the beautiful manor home that sits proudly at the heart of the village where she grew up.

Her first major event is a spring wedding of royal proportions. Holly has every detail covered, so all she has to do is keep calm and carry on… Easier said than done!

As the church bells ring, little does Holly know that come Monday, she’ll have a new boss. And it might not exactly be a match made in heaven…

They tell me Summer started yesterday.

The weather this morning tells me something different.

So what better than to start a holiday read set in Cornwall - A Good Catch by Fern Britton.

I know - I am a day late but yesterday just ran away with me.

Yesterday I started That Girl From Nowhere by Dorothy Koomson. I have never been disappointed by one of Dorothys books and I have read some great reviews.

Clemency Smittson was adopted as a baby and the only connection she has to her birth mother is a cardboard box hand-decorated with butterflies. Now an adult, Clem decides to make a drastic life change and move to Brighton, where she was born. Clem has no idea that while there she'll meet someone who knows all about her butterfly box and what happened to her birth parents.

As the tangled truths about her adoption and childhood start to unravel, a series of shocking events cause Clem to reassess whether the price of having contact with her birth family could be too high to pay...

Skywatch Friday

On Wednesday I had to wrestle with my new bike rack for the car - the sooner I get a towbar fitted the better as this involved too many bungee cords and a strategically placed sponge for my liking.

But it was worth it for the 15 mile bike ride following the path of the River Spey and the stunning views - even with the killer hill in the middle!

My last book was a slow one - never thought I would get to the end.

Tonight I am starting a new book. I like the feeling of anticipation. It should be a good one.
