What did I think?

What a gorgeous bright and zingy cover!

Portia writes such entertaining and light hearted books - and this one is no exception.

I enjoyed the relationship between Sonny and Lara. Were they really enemies at the start? I wasn't 100% convinced. The story fairly romped along and it was just the sort of book I was needing right now. Funny and easy to read. I am not in the mood for anything to serious or heavy right now.

If you after some escapism reading then I can whole heartedly recommend this one.

What did I think?

You know to expect a fun, frivolous and riotous read when you pick up one of Portia MacIntosh's books. And this one didn't disappoint.

This certainly isn't your typical boy meets girl, bot proposes and a wedding being planned. Loved the location of Cornwall too.

I don't want to give away any spoilers - other than to say I found this quite an hilarious read and the dynamic between Olivia and Teddy works well with the fast paced plot.

This would make a perfect beach read.

Your Place or Mine by Portia MacIntosh

Two reluctant housemates. One question: Is this your place or mine...?

When Serena is kicked out of her flat, an offer from her friend, Taylor, to house sit for her while she and her husband go travelling could not be better timing. But unfortunately for Serena she’s not the only one to have received this offer…

Enter Ziggy: arrogant, messy (and annoyingly handsome) musician, and friend of Taylor’s husband. Living with him is far from ideal, especially when he claims the best room, has loud parties - and the least said about his kitchen manner the better...

There's just one solution for Serena – drive him out of the house by being twice as difficult to live with than he is! But Ziggy knows Serena's game and as war ensues between them, being forced together under one roof may result in some unexpected consequences…

What did I think?

This is a laugh out loud romantic comedy - which is just what we have come to expect and love from this author.

The plot had me laughing out loud - I could really imagine this book being turned into a Netflix movie. It would go down a treat. I loved the dynamics between Serena and Ziggy - from all out war to getting rather friendly.

This book had me whizzing through the pages as I didn't want to put it down. Another book which would make the perfect holiday read.

Just Date and See by Portia MacIntosh

Billie is looking forward to a quiet, man-free Christmas. It’s just a shame her family doesn't feel the same way…

With a house full of unexpected (and unwanted) guests, Billie needs to find the perfect escape to get away from the chaos.

So when her dating app recommends a week of singles nights in her area, Billie decides that braving these events has to be better than making conversation with her dad’s new wife, dealing with her mum's mid-life crisis or witnessing her sister flirting with her insufferably arrogant next-door neighbour.

While this is definitely not the festive season she had planned, between disco bowling and boozy bingo, little does Billie know that she may find love this year after all - she'll just have to date and see...

Fall in love with the perfect laugh-out-loud festive read from top 10 bestseller Portia MacIntosh.

This meme started on J Kaye’s blog and then was hosted by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn here at The Book Date.

No Ex Before Marriage by Portia MacIntosh

It's not over until someone says 'I do'...

While her friends join the "Wife Club" one by one, Poppy feels like that part of her life is done and dusted. Already married and divorced she's not desperate to go through all that again.

But what if her divorce never actually went through...?

After a shock revelation Poppy not only discovers she is still married, but that Zac is about to have his second wedding!

Coming face to face with her (almost) ex-husband after six years apart is never going to be easy. And when Zac panics and tells his new wife-to-be that Poppy is family, things can't get much worse as she is welcomed with open arms as part of the wedding party!

As the memories flood back, can Poppy really leave the past where it is? And can she watch the first love of her life walk down the aisle to say 'I do' once again?

What did I think?

Portia's books are always a fun read and this one was no exception - heartwarming and a delight to read. Set in both London and Scotland it reads like a rom com film - now there is an idea!!

This book was light hearted even though it dealt with subjects as divorce and bereavement - these subjects were treated sympathetically. There were some laugh out loud moments too.

I am behind the curve with this authors books but am pleased that there are still quite a few I haven't yet read - something to look forward to.

Will They Won't They by Portia MacIntosh

Will They, Won't They?

When life goes off track sometimes the only thing you can do is go back to where it all began...

Emmy Palmer is the star of Bragadon Forest, the biggest fantasy series on TV; adored by the public, living the life of glamour and luxury in London.

But when scandal strikes, Emmy must escape the city and return to her seaside hometown to lie low and wait for the storm to pass.

Emmy's agent decides it would be a good look to star in the community Christmas pantomime, but who else could be playing her leading man but her ex-boyfriend who she may or may not have ditched to move to London a decade ago...

As the show approaches, love and friendships blossom and the real question is - Will they? Won't they?

What did I think?

My first book by this author. I cannot explain why I haven't read any of her books up until know. All I know is that I have been missing out.

This book was a delightful and delicious romantic comedy and I couldn't get enough of it. Just what I needed after reading several darker books just recently. it was like a breath of fresh air.

If you want a lighthearted and cute read then this book is for you. I enjoyed the character of Emmy and the setting in Marram Bay.

It's never too early for a festive read - so grab yourself a copy, snuggle up and dive in.
