Family x 12 December Blog Hop

The only member of my family to stand still long enough last month was hubby - and lets face it when he was stood up there there was precious little he could do about it!!

We had a lovely long walk along one of our local beaches and I have plenty of photos of the boys when they were younger sitting up there - but never one of hubby.

I'm not sure who else is taking part this month - it looks as though I might be a bit early (that's a first!!)

I was early cos I didn't take into account the time zones!! Please pop by and say hello to my fellow blog hop participants:

Family x 12 November Blog Hop

Not much of a hop for us this month as we seem to be down on numbers - and I didn't actually manage a family photo at all. In fact you will just have to make do with me.

It is my birthday tomorrow (and thanks to my Mum I actually know what age I will be - I am finding it increasingly difficult to keep track of my age - a couple of years ago I spent a whole year thinking I was a whole year older than I actually was!) My darling hubby bought me a new camera as my pressie and as I was so impatient I got my hands on it a couple of weeks early. Here are a couple of shots Andy took of me down by the water at Nairn - I think the black and white is slightly more forgiving!!

Please pop by to see Margie and Ruth - hangs head in shame as they have managed proper family photos.

Family x 12 October Blog Hop

A quiet month for us in September but we are lucky in having such great neighbours and the other weekend we helped Tracey celebrate her 50th. Little did we know it was going to involve inflatable Sumo suits!! And as you can see from the following set of photos both father and son threw themselves into it - quite literally!! What a laugh we had.

A small group of us this month but please pop by and say hello:

Family x 12 Blog Hop : August and September

During the Summer we packed our passport and had our vaccinations and headed South of the border on holiday.

July saw us go back down to Devon for a holiday and to meet up with some old friends. We stopped off in Wales on the way down and the way back up and spent some time with my Mum and my mother in law.

Here are the boys with my Mum.

And another one with Ray and myself in.

Taken at the top of Pampunton Hill with Clive and Nanny.

Not quite family but my bestest friend Lou, her husband Ian and their daughters Charlotte and Emily. We hadn't seen each other for almost 9 years but we picked up exactly where we left off - isn't that what best friends are all about?

In August I took the boys down to Loch Lomond for a holiday with my Dad and Wendy. Please excuse my dreadful hair and dishevelled appearance - we had just cycled the 8 miles from Balloch to Luss - not sure why it is only me who looks like a beetroot!!

Callum took this photo of the 3 of us locked up in Inverary jail.

Then just before the boys went back to school Nanny and Clive came to see us during their grand tour of Scotland - this group photo was taken on a gorgeous evening on Lossiemouth Beach.

Family x 12 Blog Hop : July

I hang my head in shame and admit to failing with a family photo - but I have managed that rare thing - a photograph of my eldest son. He normally refuses point blank to appear in any of my photos willingly - I have to try all sort of stealth tactics to try to sneak a pic - but being a know it all (aren't all 15 year olds?) I am normally out manouvered.

Here is Callum on his last day of school - first week of the holidays done and dusted already - only 6 more to go!!

And here is Sam on his 15th birthday - refusing to get changed out of his school unifomr for the obligatory birthday photo.

Next month I hope to do better as be are off down to Devon on our holibobs.

Please pop over and say hi to the other blog hoppers:

Family x 12 Blog Hop : June

The only thing you can say this month is at least I have managed to capture all 4 members of our family - just a shame they aren't all in the same photo!

Sam (the eldest) refuses point blank to let me take his photo - but I set him a challenge and he did briefly cooperate. I asked him if we could check if he was taller than me - whilst his Dad took a photo as proof. Sadly he is!!

He is also catching up fast with his Dad - he already has larger feet than him:

But Callum still has a way to go. There is 3 years difference between them and a photo I took at a similar time last year shows there not to be too much of a height differnece - mainly as Sam didn't seem to be growing much at all height wise. But he is making up for it now - must be all that food he eats.

Please pop round and say hi to the other blog hop participants (our highest number ever this month.)

Family x 12 Blog Hop : May

Once again I didn't manage to get all 4 of us caught on camera but I tried my best when 3 of us went down to Kingston for a walk along the pebbles by the sea.

Callum took this one of the 2 of us - in fact he took about 12 but 10 of them were blurry!! And the only way to get the boy photographer in front of the camera was to wrestle him there!

So there are the 3 of us all be it in 2 photographs.

Family x 12 Blog Hop

So sorry for being late this month - a slight confusion over the dates. I have just spent the week down in Wales visiting my Mum and didn't get back home until very late on Friday night which was the 6th! And to make matters worse I only managed to photos of individual members of the family - non of more than one of us anywhere! So you have little old me - all on my own taken by hubby whilst waiting for our friends (and kids and dogs) to go for a walk in Roseisle forest.
Please pop by and say hi to the rest of the blog participants below: Please pop by everyone on today's hop and say hello: Margie Ruth Jo <- you are here. Patricia

Family x 12 Blog Hop : March

Just the two of us this month. Taken on a recent walk along Cullen beach a nice lady took pity on us after seeing us (non too well) trying to take out own photo - you know the scene - camera held at arms length only to actually capture the top third of your heads!!

So thank you to the lady whoever she was - and I hope she enjoyed her walk.

Family x 12 Blog Hop : February

Only managed to get the three of us together for a photo. This was taken on Andy's birthday bike ride around a very cold and frosty Culbin Forest - Sam refused point blank to come with us. One camera on self timer and one fence post and lots of running backwards and forwards!!

Family x 12 Blog Hop : Decmeber

I had no problems getting a family photo of the four of us last month - this one was taken on my birthday so they couldn't argue with me. We had been out for a delicious Sunday lunch and decided to go for a walk along Findhorn beach to walk some of it off. The was a chap taking photos of the sunset so I asked him nicely if he would take a photo of us which he duly did - thank you to that stranger!!!

Not so many of us blog hopping today - but everyone is busy with Christmas preparations. My preparations so far consist of buying a few presents and Christmas tree putting up avoidance - I am trying to convince the boys that Christmas Eve is soon enough!!!!

Family x 12 Blog Hop : November

I'm joining in with the blog hop a bit late again this month - due to the fact that my family were unwilling to all get together in one place for a photo. But with some veiled threats and possibly some bribes I finally managed it.

Forgive the flare from the sun - but said sun was rapidly going down and I refused to move the picnic bench to several locations in order to get a better shot so these will have to do.

First there was one:

And then there was two - the teenager who is usually last for everything!!

Then there were three - and I have just noticed he is wearing the same football shirt as last month - it is a favourite!

And finally there were four:

As a last minute addition to the blog hop I am at the end but you can hop back to the top here:

Family x 12 Blog Hop : October

I'm late, I'm late.............

So sorry to my other blog hoppers - I only remembered about this late last night when it was to late to do anything about it. And I also failed (again) to get a photo with all 4 of us in it.

These photos were taken straight after school one day. Callum as usual was more than happy to sit in front of the camera for me but with Sam I had one go to get a decent shot. I put the camera on the timer and after the first shot he vanished back into his bedroom - that was my chance and I had had it!!

A test shot of me and Callum:

Callum left alone with the camera on the timer:

And with both of my boys:

Family x 12 Blog Hop : September

Have a sneaky feeling I am a bit late in the day with my entry for the blog hop - I don't know where the day goes. By the time I got home from school/work I had so many things I wanted to get done - but it looks as though some will have to wait till tomorrow.

Here is my August family photo: it is a photo from the very beginning of August from when my Dad and Wendy came up to visit. It was taken on a local geocache in a wood I had never been to before.

Left to right are: Wendy, Sam, Callum and Dad.

Family x 12 Blog Hop : July and August

Due to unforeseen circumstances the blog hop didn't go ahead as planned to today we are playing catch up with our family photos from June and July.

You should have reached me via Monicas blog.

June saw a family reunion as our family headed over to the US for a holiday with my brother in law and his family - this was only the second time in the last 10 years that we had all been together. I have blogged some "en masse" photos here of all of us but the one I am sharing with you today came right at the end of our holiday.

My youngest brother in law (Uncle Will) happened to be in Atlanta working whilst we were there much to the delight of all the nieces and nephews as they all worship him!!! So here is all 3 Burton brothers together with all the children and my sister in law Kath. I wonder when we will all get together again??

July saw my Dad and Wendy make the trip up north to visit us and one afternoon we went for a walk around a local loch. I took this set of photos of them with the boys but I think in every one of them someone has got their eyes shut!!!

Family x 12 Blog Hop : June

Welcome to this months hop - and I have to put my hand up and admit that I have failed miserably in my attempts to get the whole family together for a photo. You should have arrived her from Ruth.

Whenever I get the camera out (which is often) everybody groans - and then scatters!! Except one - and he was my subject in Shimelles 10 Things challenge earlier in the week.

So this week I will introduce you to the youngest member of our family - and the only one who will happily pose for me.

This is Callum (aged 10) just before he headed off into the woods with his Dad for a bike ride - he had been pestering to go out all week but by the time his Dad got home from work it was raining. So this evening he got himself all kitted up and ready to go - please note the shocking assortment of clothes he has on (I had no part in that!!)

I did also have an ulterior motive for taking these photos - my brand new 50mm lens had just arrived in the post and I was dying to try it out. I am quite pleased with the result but I think learning to zoom with my feet might take a bit of getting used to.

Thank you for visiting me and hope you enjoy the rest of your blog hop and Sharis is your next destination.

PS - Next month will be better as we are off to the States soon for something of a family reunion and have been taking bets with my sister in law about who can take the most photos!!
