♥F♥ Thirsty Thursday

For this weeks challenge over at ATDML my Fs are four photos of family and some flowers.

The papers are 360 Degrees by Pink Paislee - I think maybe the flowers are just too busy with all those patterns! And the photos are of the four cousins on the beach in Destin - and believe me it was like herding cats trying to get them all to stand still - especially with the tide coming in.

♥E♥ Thirsty Thursday/Sketch Of The Week - 28th September

Three is a lucky number - so they say!

Three was the number of pages I managed to complete at my local crop on Sunday afternoon and three is the number of photos I used on this page.

This was a challenge in itself with Shimelles sketch of the week - as I am usually a one photo per page sort of scrapper - and those photos are usually 6x4 ones. So 3 small photos took me out of my comfort zone.

I used Pink Paislee 360 Degrees papers which I have had for quite some time and I haven't used as they were just too nice (sound familiar??) I used a Martha Stewart punch for the border and dug out some pale blue brads as an accent.

The photos are of Callum blowing out his candles on his birthday cake last week.

This is also my attempt at this weeks Thirsty Thursday challenge over on the A Trip Down Memory Lane blog. They gave an assortment of ideas for the letter E but after some thought I decided I would try embossing on my page. I have a selection of Cuttlebug embossing folders but to be honest I have only ever used them on cards never on a scrapbook page. First I cut my title from mt "Smart Guy" aphabet die set and then ran the letters through the Cuttlebug using the Swiss dots folder. I like the finished effect - and can see me using it again. Plus I left plenty of Empty space!!

I am loving these challenges - they have really got my mojo fired up again.

♥D♥ Thirsty Thursday/Red Ribbons September Fun Weekend

I am combining two challenges with this page.

Over on the A Trip Down Memory Lane we are up to letter D in the alphabet. My inspiration came from this photo of my Dad taken when he came up to visit last month. We went to Culloden and the reason he is wearing headphones is that when you get out onto the battlefield you get a commentary as you walk around - along with sound effects. I have to admit it does make the place come alive and you do get a sense of what it must have been like back in 1745. The papers I have used are ones that I have had for a long long time - Remember The Moments by Dream Street Papers. I used them on both this and the previous page and now only have a few scraps left - wonder if I can use them up on another page?

This page is also my take on the 2nd challenge set by the Red Ribbons house as part of their fun weekend. Shimelle gave us our very own starting point challenge - and I love these challenges so had to play along.

♥C♥ Thirsty Thursday and an online crop

Last night saw me take part in an online crop. It was like the sorts on online events that Shimelle and others organize only on a much smaller scale.

I am a member of a team over on UK Scrappers and our team leader Dawn thought it was a good idea to have an evening where as many of the team as possible could be online at the same time all taking part in the same challenge. The idea is that we do this once a month and we each take a turn in hosting the crop and providing the challenge.

Last nights crop was hosted by Ann who provided instructions for the most fantastic class. We were emailed instructions which was very professionally put together - and although my page doesn't look much like the original I am really pleased with it. You can see some sneak peaks of Ann's class on her blog.

My page also fitted in perfectly with the Thirsty Thursday ♥C♥ challenge over on the ATDML blog. My C is for Callum Concentrating - not something you see every day. The papers are just so gorgeous and by a new company called Authentique - they are really heavy weight papers and a joy to use - and they came in last months kit from Gottacraft

Another of the C ideas was to make a card - and that is something I will be doing over the weekend - I want to make a concerted effort to use up some scraps and make some cards.

♥B♥ Thirsty Thursday/Scrapbook Starting Points

One scrapbook page - two challenges.

This page started off as this weeks Scrapbook Starting Point but halfway through I realised it would also fit in with this weeks ♥B♥ Thirsty Thursday challenge.

This was Shimelles starting point:




For the ♥B♥ challenge I used an old Basic Grey Offbeat paper pad - I have had it for a ages and only used it once before. The strip across the middle of the page is one of those Bazzill Just The Edge Strips that I have had for yonks and never used (I think they were from swap over on UK Scrappers where everyone bought a different packet and then they were all divided up so we all got a selection - seemed like a good idea at the time!!)And for good measure I used some Buttons!

The photo is of Callum taken at the Cherokee Indian Village we visited while we were on holiday - not sure what there was too actually look at through that viewfinder things!

♥A♥ Thirsty Thursday

Thirsty Thursday is a series of challenges run by A Trip Down Memory Lane on their blog providing lots if inspiration - you can read all about it here. Thought I would play along and learn my A B C!

Thirsty Thursday is where we quench your creative thirst with our alphabet challenge series which, as you would expect, starts at the beginning of the alphabet with the letter A. Your challenge is to take inspiration from one or more of the "A" prompts below to make a layout, card or another crafty project. You can join in every week or as and when you are able, there are no deadlines and no need to feel pressured to participate - it's all good fun! So what do we have to inspire you with for the letter A?


Here are some ideas for the first letter of the alphabet and I decided to scrap one of Ann's pages from the 2011 gallery - this was her page:

I used Basic Grey Origins papers and I have to say I have had that strange fabric flower in my stash forever - I remember finding it in a kit and wondering what on earth I would use it for! But the colours went perfectly with this page (and I now just have to use the other one from the packet up!) Once again my Sizzix flourish die was used - these are appearing on so many pages as it is one of my favourite things at the moment and the little journalling stamp is by WRMC which I picked up in the states.
